The Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) certification validates a developer’s ability to build complete software solutions that span technology and platform boundaries. To earn the MCSD credential, a developer must pass a series of exams, each of which focuses on a particular programming language, platform or service.
The MCSD: Web Applications certification validates a developer’s ability to design, build and deploy web applications and services using a variety of Microsoft technologies. Achieving this certification involves passing three separate exams. However, there are two different areas of programming language emphasis to choose from, which include C# or JavaScript. This means that there are actually four different exams related to the MCSD: Web Applications credential. These include the following:
- 70-483: Programming in C#
- 70-480: Programming in HTML5 with JavaScript and CSS3
- 70-486: Developing ASP.NET MVC 4 Web Applications
- 70-487: Developing Microsoft Azure and Web Services
In order to achieve the MCSD: Web Applications certification, you only need to pass one of the first two language exams, followed by both of the remaining two exams on ASP.NET and Azure/Web Services. The following individual learning paths provide guidance on which Pluralsight courses will help you prepare for these exams, and achieve your MCSD certification for web applications.
MCSD: Web Applications (C# option)
- Learning Path: Programming C# (Microsoft Exam 70-483)
